Fire Department

The Lakewood Volunteer Fire Department is proud to serve and protect the residents, visitors, and businesses throughout the local community. Our highly trained volunteer firefighters respond around the clock to structure fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, rescue incidents, and other emergencies with professionalism, dedication, and compassion. Through training, teamwork, and community partnerships, the department works tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone who calls this area home.

 

In addition to protecting our local community, members of the Lakewood Volunteer Fire Department proudly answer the call to assist with large-scale wildland and forest fires throughout northern Minnesota, including the forests north of Ely. These deployments require specialized training, long hours, and a strong commitment to protecting Minnesota's natural resources, homes, and communities. Our volunteers are honored to stand alongside neighboring departments and state agencies, demonstrating the spirit of service and dedication that defines the fire service.
